Wintergarden Room Returns

In 1979, Dolores San Miguel opened it as a gig, in between The Ballroom having some minor renovations. It became an institution with The Ballroom crowd, as weeknights plus weekends, you could see all the hottest, new, young bands playing.

These included Nick Cave's Boys Next Door, La Femme, The Models, International Exiles, Sean Kelly, The Jetsonnes [band with Mark Seymour, prior to Hunters & Collectors] Primitive Calculators, The Moodists, The Sacred Cowboys, Laughing Clowns, Cosmic Psychos, Crime & The City Solution plus heaps more. Of course back then, there was no renovated room, we all squashed in and the bands played on the carpet with a vocal P.A!.

Now Dolores has been invited back and live bands begin on Opening Night of Saturday, 18th November with The Casinos, The Moths [Bill Walsh, original drummer with Cosmic Psychos band] and The Supporters.

The night begins at midnight and goes through till dawn. Entry is $10, guest D.J 's, drink specials all upstairs in the luxurious
